About the Founder

Ashoka V

Founder & Director, Pranava Yoga Pratishthana  ·  Yoga Chikitsa Acharya (Consultant Yoga Therapist)

Ashoka V is the Founder and Director of Pranava Yoga Pratishthana, an educator, Yoga Chikitsa Acharya (Consultant Yoga Therapist), researcher, teacher trainer, and lifelong student of Indian knowledge systems. His life's mission is to restore the authentic spirit of Yoga by integrating classical yogic wisdom, modern scientific understanding, spirituality, and compassionate service for the holistic wellbeing of individuals and society.

Born and raised in Chintamani Taluk of Chikkaballapur District (formerly Kolar District), Karnataka, in a traditional farming family, Ashoka's early life nurtured values of simplicity, discipline, reverence for nature, and selfless service. After completing his education in rural schools, he graduated in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, followed by an MBA in Human Resource Management, building a strong foundation in scientific thinking and leadership.

His professional career began in the healthcare industry, where he spent nearly eight years working alongside medical specialists, gaining practical exposure to respiratory medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, infectious diseases, critical care, and women's health. He later worked with Widex India Pvt. Ltd. and Amplifon, internationally respected organisations in speech and hearing healthcare, where he developed a deeper understanding of rehabilitation sciences and patient-centred care.

Although professionally established, his passion for yoga and spirituality inspired him to pursue formal yogic education at S-VYASA University. Beginning with the Yoga Instructor Course and later completing his Master of Science in Yoga Therapy, he developed a unique ability to correlate modern physiology, psychology, and medical sciences with the principles of Yoga described in the classical scriptures — an integrative understanding that became the foundation of his life's work.

With the encouragement and support of the medical fraternity, he established Pranava Yoga Pratishthana in 2017, gradually expanding it into a comprehensive centre for preventive healthcare, yoga education, teacher training, research, and holistic wellbeing. Affiliated with S-VYASA University since 2018, he has guided more than 35 batches, training over 350 yoga teachers from India and countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.

Ashoka has qualified the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) in Yoga and is pursuing his Ph.D. in Yoga and Life Sciences at S-VYASA University, where his research focuses on the role of yoga in Obstructive Sleep Apnea and sleep disorders. His understanding of yoga has been enriched through study with traditions including Kaivalyadhama, Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Bihar School of Yoga, and the Malladihalli Yoga tradition, along with systematic study of Vedanta, Tattvabodha, and the Bhagavad Gita under respected teachers. Spiritually, he is an initiated disciple of Paramahamsa Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati of the Bihar School of Yoga, belonging to the Guru Parampara of Swami Sivananda Saraswati.

Service remains the heart of his work — from yoga awareness programmes in schools, colleges, universities and corporates, to supporting children with developmental challenges such as ASD and ADHD through the therapeutic role of yoga. He is recognised by the Indian Yoga Association as a Yoga Chikitsa Acharya (Consultant Yoga Therapist), and was honoured with the "Yoga Shri" Award by Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Yoga Kendra.

Today, Ashoka V continues to build Pranava Yoga Pratishthana as a centre of excellence in yoga education, therapy, research, and human development — rooted in Shastra (scriptural wisdom), Vijnana (scientific understanding), Sadhana (personal practice), and Seva (selfless service).

"Yoga is not merely a method of treating disease—it is a way of understanding life. When science, spirituality, nature, and selfless service come together, health evolves into harmony, and harmony becomes the foundation for individual and societal transformation."
